It may not be as popular as a Samsung S III or iPhone, but Sony’s Xperia S still has style in bundles and an quirky originality that’s hard to miss.

The not-very-much anticipated successor to the Xperia S has just been released, without as much as a shout. It seems more like an updated version of the S. The plan is possibly to breathe more life into one of the less well-known smartphones out there, and to maybe give the big-guns a run for their money.
The processor has been upgraded, from 1.5GHz to 1.7GHz dual-core. It’ll also run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, up from the previously offered Gingerbread. The screen and 12.1 megapixel camera stay the same, as does the boxy look of the phone. It’s being offered in four colours right now, including pink.
