Nokia will announce a new range of Lumia smartphones: the 800 series. The range has two offerings, the 810 and 820 both scheduled for release later this year. The 810 is currently doing the rounds and sources at The Verge say it will be unveiled at a Nokia event 29 October. The event will also reveal further information on Windows 8 as it makes its way onto both the 800 and 900 series.

Early specs show that this version will feature a 4.3-inch display protected by scratch-proof Gorilla Glass. The device is also packing an 8MP Carl Zeiss designed camera in the back and 1.2MP VGA camera in the front (more for mirror-type application than Instagram posts). Most importantly, the 810 will be running Windows 8. City Lens is included, a feature which uses information from the camera viewfinder, showing restaurants, shops, hotels and points of interest and providing users with a “unique interactive experience”.
No information has been released regarding pricing for Nokia’s new range of smartphones “designed around you”. Wrapped in sleek black, it’s filled with pretty impressive features for what is meant to be a mid-range product.
