After Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8 event on 29 October, many viewers were left intrigued by the mystery Samsung device that was set to make a December unveiling thanks to US mobile carrier, Verizon Wireless.
Those sly folks at EV Leaks have once again given us preview of the device ahead of time. The image was posted on EV Leaks’ twitter page earlier today. It would suggest that Samsung will be following the trend of its Galaxy S III mini, with the Odyssey sporting a similar design, but smaller dimensions than that of the Ativ S.

The one difference between the S III mini and the Odyssey is that the Odyssey features far higher specs. The Odyssey is powered by a dual-core 1.5 Ghz Snapdragon S4 processor running the newly designed Windows Phone 8 OS. Its been fitted with a 8MP camera in the rear and 2 MP camera up front.
It also features a rather sizable 4.65-inch Super AMOLED display, only 0.15-inches smaller than the Aitv S. The Odyssey will be available in 4G/LTE, which suggests the Korean manufacturer intend it to be a globally released device.
Although the Ativ Odyssey is not Samsung’s flagship Windows Phone 8 offering, it certainly boasts some impressive specs to keep users more than satisfied. If Samsung can hit the right price point with this device, it could have a true gem on its hands.
