A sales story rarely makes it to Gearburn, but when Apple’s involved we’ll make an exception. Apple has halved its orders for iPhone 5 displays, which means one of two things. But first, the proof.
The news was first revealed by The Wall Street Journal.

Apple’s orders for screens for the January-March quarter, for example, have dropped to roughly half of what it had previously planned to order, two of the people said. The U.S. company has also cut orders for components other than screens, according to one of the people.
As we said, there are two scenarios at work here. The first one is that iPhone 5 sales are below expectations. But it’s Apple, and any drop will most likely become a soaring peak later on, as last seen with the iPhone 4S which is still selling strongly.
Scenario two, as pointed out by The Verge indicates that Apple could be prepping for a new iPhone model, and is halving screen parts in order to concentrate on upcoming devices, such as the rumoured “emerging market” iPhone. Regardless, this sign can be seen as a shifting storm and change, my friends is coming.
