Here we are, finally. It’s a trailer for Broken Age, the game that until yesterday was known as “Double Fine Adventure”. It practically began the Kickstarter.com gaming-related funding craze and an independent game by Monkey Island co- creator, Tim Schafer. Sit back and enjoy.

The description alone points to endless creativity.
Broken Age is a point-and-click adventure telling the stories of a young boy and girl leading parallel lives. The girl has been chosen by her village to be sacrificed to a terrible monster–but she decides to fight back. Meanwhile, a boy on a spaceship is living a solitary life under the care of a motherly computer, but he wants to break free to lead adventures and do good in the world. Adventures ensue.
Broken Age had a breezy Kickstarter goal of US$400 000 but ultimately destroyed this figure, earning US$3 336 371 with a total of 87 142 backers. To date, it’s one of the most successful Kickstarter gaming campaigns. Other games include Broken Sword: The Serpents Curse.
For those who want to continue enjoying the Broken Age goodness, there’s an option to become a backer (US$30 minimum backing fee). This will keep subscribers current with 2 Player Productions “ongoing documentary episodes.” For more on Broken Age and the fascinating story behind it, visit its Kickstarter page here.
