The Acer Aspire S7-392 runs Windows 8 64-bit laid out on a 13.3-inch Full HD touch display at 1920×1080. It also hosts a no-too-shabby HD webcam. The design looks sleek and stylish and carries Intel’s fourth generation core processor. According to Engadget, the European version is a bit more expensive and has a 2560×1440.
There are two models available, both running 8GB of DDR3 RAM and covered in crystal white Gorilla Glass 2. According to Acer, this will make the S7 “scratch resistant, easy to clean, extremely strong and beautiful to the eye.” The keyboard is also backlit LED that automatically adjusts the light.
One really neat design feature is the fact that it’s wobble-free, meaning that you can open it easily with one hand without the whole body lifting up. You can also push the screen all the way down 180 degrees so that the S7’s flat on the table while being able to flip the display.
The cheaper variant goes for US$1450 on Acer’s website and is equipped with a 1.6GHz Core i5 processor and has on board memory of 128GB SSD space. The more expensive model puts you back US$17000 that will make up for its 1.8GHz Core i7 processor and a 256GB SSD.
Compared to a US$400 less expensive Macbook Air, the S7 has a greater resolution with touch and runs Windows 8. The S7’s battery life is promised to go for about seven hours. Both have their ups and downs and are serious high-end competitors. For more details on the price and comparisons take a look here.
