Leaked images and a video of the alleged LG Optimus G2 have been floating around the web today. These came after the Korean tech giant released a teaser video of its upcoming event 7 August that dubbed us all perfect.

The video shows LG’s new Android flagship in action while 4Leaks fiddles with the usual Android homepage menu and slide-down notifications and then eventually confirms the G2’s model number.
Everything seems to point at a pretty standard high-end phone besides from the extremely thin bezel which makes the 5.2-inch display pop out substantially. The Android itself is very thin and besides from its blocky look, it kind of resembles the Nexus 4.
4Leaks, the guy who leaked the video, says that it’s 5.46″ tall and 2.80″ wide and is very comfortable in hand. Another thing that will make the screen pop out would probably be its expected 2560×2048.
At the back there’s a 13 mp camera with a volume rocker and sleep button right underneath. This curious design feature would probably be what makes it stand out instantly. Apparently, the camera will also have ultra HD recording.
Besides from the hands-on exclusiveness of the video, what’s also really cool is the awesome graphic effects when unlocking this Optimus. It’s a fancy trick that uses zoom-like illusions that looks as if you’re warping in the home screen. Very much like the Optimus G.
It will of course, as Engadget reaffirms, run Android Jelly Bean. An anonymous tipster told Engadget that it will run Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.3GHz and paired with 2GB RAM.
Seeing that the event is 7 August, we’ll most likely see more leaks and some more exclusive details filter through the media in the coming weeks. If leaks are not your sort of thing, check LG’s event in New York next month.
Given the smart design, massive display and camera the LG Optimus G2 seems to be leading up to something great. We really hope so as the G1 was pretty average.
