Samsung preety much launched the phablet into the mainstream with the astonishingly good Galaxy Note. The Note II was even better. It should hardly be surprising therefore that the global tech press is more than a little keen to see what the South Korean giant can come up with when it launches the third iteration of the device on 4 September.
The company made it pretty clear that it would be unveiling the Note III with an invitation sent to the press for its second “unpacked” event, scheduled to take place right before the annual IFA tech conference in Berlin.

It’ll be interesting to see what new features Samsung manages to stuff into its latest phablet. It certainly won’t turn heads with the size, as that’s pretty much fixed, but if it wants to continue mystifying the phablet sceptics in the same way its predecessors have, then it’ll have to feature something a little more compelling than the gimmicks it loaded the S4 with.
