Gold iPad Mini 2 images leaked with TouchID and A7 CPU

Recent sources seem to suggest that Apple’s upcoming iPad Mini 2 will be released with TouchID, various fancy metallic colours and Apple’s A7 64-bit processor. While it’s a given that the web will be plastered with leaks and rumours, many of these don’t seem to be too far off from each other or too far-fetched.

Sonny Dickson has so far been very accurate in prelude to the iPhone 5S and 5C with his sourced leaks and pics. A few days ago he started posting “hands-on” details of the iPad Mini 2 in Space Grey.

It should therefore be no surprise to expect that the iPad Mini 2 will come in grey, silver and gold. Dickson’s sources also state that the latest iPad mini will sport the new A7 64-bit chip, the M7 motion co-processor and 1GB of RAM. Many of the same specs found in the iPhone 5s.

Chinese website DoNews posted photos of a champagne coloured iPad Mini fitted with a fingerprint sensor:

Moreover, the guys at SW-Box posted images of their own. These still correlating with the rest, might suggest they’re not be too far off.

Dickson also suggests that the upcoming 9.7-inch iPad 5 will be run with 2 GB RAM.

We don’t know whether or not there’ll be a retina iPad mini 2 or not. Apple’s next press event is 15 October which is believed to be the date we’ll see these bad boys taking the stage. We just hope that Apple won’t release plastic iPad minis with almost-lumo colours this time round.
