Leaked pictures show possible gold-coloured HTC One

There has been a leak. One that captured a gold-coloured HTC One. It’s actually only specific parts that have been found to be gold-coloured but as Engadget notes, the leak seems to be pretty legit.

It’s noted that the leaker, a Sina Weibo user, has quite a good track record and that the hand-written marks on the phone seem very authentic, as they’re similar to the labels that would be used by the phone’s designer.

The colour of one’s phone is a big deal. At least that’s what the recent trends have shown us: from Apple announcing its new range of coloured phones this week to Nokia having done so a while back, they tend to create all kinds of hype.

Apple managed to turn heads when the first rumours surfaced of the iPhone 5S in gold which it then announced together with a host of other flashy colours and the customizable colour dots cases for the iPhone 5C.

If you’re really into the bling bling thing (and have the money of course), it looks like there’s already an actual 24-carat gold HTC One available together with a platinum and a rose gold version. The existing gold HTC One goes for almost US$3000. Let’s just hope that HTC’s gold-coloured version goes for much less.

After many rumours suggesting a new colour, HTC announced the “vivid blue” HTC One a few weeks ago. There’s also the “glamour red”. It is quite possible that the company might decide to go golden as well. Are you into gold phones, or are you pretty much neutral when it comes to the colour of your phone?
