‘Assassin’s Creed IV’ readies us with new trailer and 29 October release date

Here’s the good news: Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag was going to launch 1 November, but now it gets a 29 October global release date. Hooray for Ubisoft.

We haven’t discussed Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag for a number of reasons. Firstly, it’s the fourth in the series by now and we thought that Ubisoft has run out of steam (it hasn’t). Secondly, it’s about pirates and we want to stab people in the face, not sail ships into the unknown (we want to sail now though). It could be this new story trailer for AC4 that’s got us so excited. Have a look at the life of the latest murderer of men and women, Edward Kenway:

Much better. As much as the previous trailers delighted us, they didn’t really do anything to show off the majesty of AC. The new story trailer almost utterly changes the way we’re thinking about AC now. “Defy the odds” says the trailer at the end. And yes, we really, really want to. This release date is for PS3 and Xbox 360. Lucky next-gen console owners of the PS4, Xbox One and Wii U will need to wait until 22 November.
