Nokia’s been teasing an event, “Nokia World” which will unveil its newest device, believed to be the so-called “Bandit” or Lumia 1520. Tomorrow we’ll hopefully see the new Windows Phone 8 smartphone officially in action. Although rumours and leaks have been pinballing throughout the web, a recent leak suggests it’s most likely to have a US$800 price tag which is more expensive than most smartphones out there.

Apart from the 1520’s massive 6″screen, it also carries a 1080p display. On top of that it’s said to have a 20MP PureView camera and is powered by the latest Qualcomm processor (Snapdragon 800 CPU to be exact) and up to 32GB.

New details leaked today on a Chinese online store Tmall suggests that the Bandit might come with a 5000 yuan price tag which is about US$820.
The 6″ beast is apparently going to be unveiled alongside Nokia’s first tablet going by the name “Sirius” of which details are scarce.
About two months ago we saw a leaked image of the Bandit’s Windows tile homepage. The homepage showed us that the Bandit will come with a Windows Phone 8 update and will have “the ability to fit one double wide next to a medium-sized tile”.
The Bandit will have a new column of Live Tiles which will be welcome to Windows Phone 8 fans. We’re sure the bandit will come packed with some really interesting software features. Considering Nokia Lumia’s recent record of success, Microsoft will be hoping to zoom in on the action.
Nokia Lumia sales record has hit a record high. The company has sold 8-million units between June and September compared to 2.9-million the same time last year. Will this US$820 6″ phablet further boost Nokia’s sales record or cripple it?
