‘Dark Souls 2’ bolstered by voice-actor Peter Serafinowicz

The dragons are coming

You may recognise Peter Serafinowicz from cult TV shows Spaced, Black Books or films like Shaun of the Dead. Known for his deep, full-bodied, dare I say voluptuous, voice, the British Serafinowicz will play the role of the treasure hunter Mild-mannered Pate, an NPC, in the upcoming open-world RPG Dark Souls 2.

Serafinowicz, whose voice’s power can probably be best experienced during these scenes from Black Books, is no stranger to voice-over acting. He’s had voice roles in South Park, American Dad!, Archer as well as the games Lego City Undercover and Star Wars: Battlefront 2.

According to Namco Bandai, the game’s publisher, Serafinowicz loves the Dark Souls series:

“Dark Souls is the most engrossing game I’ve ever played,” the actor said. “For me, it’s the best game of all time”.

Not long after the announcement, an almost nine-minute gameplay video appeared which shows off, besides some tough-as-nails battles with a wraith and knight, Serafinowicz’s role near the end. We’ve added the full video below but if you only want to hear Serafinowicz just skip to 8:17.

Dark Souls 2 is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Dark Souls, known for its incredible difficulty. Dark Souls 2 will be released for Microsoft Windows, PS3, and Xbox 360 in March, with a game world roughly double the size of Dark Souls.
