Jelly Bean still reigning king of Android

Jelly Bean is king, Gingerbread is the runner-up and Ice Cream Sandwich takes third place. These builds of Android are currently the most installed per build, with Android 4.4 or KitKat almost tying with Froyo (Android 2.2) as the least installed OS. Taken directly from Google, these numbers show that KitKat still has a long way to go before it becomes the default Android OS. The full list of stats are below:

Data was collected from 1- 8 January 2014
Google’s statistics also reveal that over 34% of Android users have a “normal” sized screen with an hDPI (240 pixels per inch) display. The data has been scraped from users running the latest version of Google Play supporting Froyo and newer. Google won’t count devices before August 2013, as these make up a fraction of the Android user-base (less than 1%, says Google).
