In Flappy Bird, you carefully tap to fly a bird/fish-hybrid with wings through pipes until you crash. All the art looks like it’s been lifted directly from a forgotten Nintendo game and the game has a lifespan of five to ten seconds, depending on how skilled you are as a gamer (not that any of it seems to matter, as the hit detection with the pipes is a little fiddly).
Since its launch, it’s been downloaded almost 50-million times, but it’s hard to get an exact number, as the Google Play store pins it between 10 and 50-mil. Regardless, it’s a hit and while the game may be average in both play-ability and graphics, it’s garnered a following that borders on the cult. What’s better than playing the game though, is watching others rack up insane high scores or cheat their way to glory.
