Musician crams 38 heavy metal video game songs into one fantastic tribute

A heavy metal version of Tetris, Super Mario Bros. 2, Skyrim and Civilisation may seem a little arbitrary for a Monday morning, but give it a listen and discover how hard rock and sweet music skills can lift even the sourest of moods.

Care of Engadget, we’ve got YouTube user FamilyJules7X rocking it fairly hard with a 17:10-minute long metal tribute to video game music. It took FamilyJules7x and his band over three years to finish this compilation and the results are equally hardcore and heartwarming. There’s over 38 well-known video game tracks here, and spans from 1972 right up until today. The full song list is below the video, for those of us unable to place them all. Our favourite? Skyrim, without a doubt.
