South Africans, you don’t have to wait for an official iPhone 6 launch, because online retailer bidorbuy now sells the 16GB iPhone 6 for R16 499. There’s nine left, so act quickly. Or wait until November when Apple will most likely, and officially, launch the iPhone 6.

Bidorbuy boss Jaco Jonker excitedly tweeted the first sale.

Apple will launch the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus come 19 September in the U.S., Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore and others. Come 26 September, it launches in 22 more countries including Russia, Sweden, Qatar, Norway, Portugal, New Zealand and loads more, but not South Africa, yet.
Bidorbuy’s iPhone 6 is contract-free, and promises to be “100 PERCENT ORIGINAL APPLE IPHONE 6”. The sale ends 25 September 2014. For comparison, the 16GB iPhone 6 will set back a U.S. buyer US$200 (on contract) or US$649 (contract free, but through T-Mobile only). It’s incredibly expensive, but this purchase is aimed at those who could afford R27 000 for Google Glass.
