We’ve been raving a lot about Bloodborne — the PlayStation 4 exclusive gothic horror title that’s going to rock our worlds inside out come 6 February 2015. That’s right, Sony’s just come clean, and has announced the launch date together with a juicy new trailer and details about the Bloodborne Collector’s Edition.

For the uninitiated, Bloodborne is a third-person action RPG with enough gore, monsters and darkness to keep anyone intrigued since Dark Souls.

It’s then to little surprise that the game’s been birthed out of a collaborative effort between Japanese developer FromSoftware and Sony Computer Entertainment — some of the same developers behind the Dark Souls series.

The announcement, together with this awesome new trailer, comes with some new surprises. The trailer shows off the Dark Souls-like co-op feature, chilling monsters and super creepy environments.

The Collector’s Edition (available for US$79) includes a “special Steelbook collector’s case, an exclusive premium art book featuring stunning concept art from the game, as well as the complete soundtrack featuring all of the haunting music from the game’s score.”

Furthermore, Bloodborne will have an online component to it, where the Hunters (antagonists) have creatures called Messengers that “have creeped up out of the nightmare world and facilitate some of the asynchronous online gameplay features.” With the pre-order edition, players will have access to exclusive skins for their Messenger companions.
