The world has waited a long time for a new gaggle of Microsoft devices to leave Redmond, especially those twiddling thumbs before the Lumia flagship release, but finally, the company has announced a date for its latest event.
Although we can’t say for sure what Microsoft will reveal on 6 October, but there’s an almost definite chance we’ll see the new Microsoft Lumia 950, 950 XL flagships and the Microsoft Surface Pro 4. There’s also talk of a possible Microsoft Band 2, the company’s less-than-interesting fitness tracker.

The former devices will be the first Microsoft flagship smartphones in well over a year, sport Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs, large screens and polycarbonate bodies. There’s also talk of a rather impressive set of camera hardware too.

and the first to sport Windows 10 out-of-the-box. Both will boast impressive specs too, and should be an adequate alternative to the iPhone 6S Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, to name just two.
The Surface Pro 4 however is perhaps more anticipated, especially after Apple’s iPad Pro launch. The device should feature Intel’s new Skylake chipsets, which means the likes of wireless charging and high-performance, low-energy processors.
All that we know for sure is that the company’s new devices will run on Windows 10. The OS itself was quoted to be installed on over 75-million devices a month into its life and with the likes of Acer featuring phones that run the OS, we could see it spread rapidly across the mobile space within a few months.
Of course, more will be revealed closer to launch.
