Halo 5: Guardians is something of a return to form for Microsoft’s flagship gaming series, and that’s mainly thanks to 343 Industries. But the company can only really thank itself for the HoloLens — arguably its most exciting hardware creation to date.
In a new video posted by Varun Mani shows the power of the augmented reality headset and its future potential, by streaming a full game of Halo 5: Guardians from the Xbox One console through to the HoloLens itself.

In the video, Mani begins a game on his traditional TV through the Xbox One. Around 20-seconds in, he’s seen pausing the session on the TV, and resuming it on the HoloLens. The HoloLens mimics a traditional wide panel screen, and the results really are quite impressive.
