Huawei P9, P9 Lite and P9 Max leak in shock, premature Oppomart listing

Oppomart isn’t doing much to stoke the hype surrounding the Huawei P9 launch, and in fact, it might’ve just ruined the show for the Chinese manufacturer. The company this week outed a new list of specs for not just the Huawei P9, but the Huawei P9 Lite and P9 Max.

The retailer’s specs listings aren’t always accurate, but this is still an incredibly detailed listing nonetheless. Of course, Huawei has yet to make its plans concrete, so take this with a pinch of salt regardless.

So what can we expect?

Huawei P9

According to Oppomart, there’ll be a 5.2-inch screen with a quad HD panel, a 3000mAh battery, an in-house developed HiSilicon Kirin 950 SoC with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. Dual-SIM slots (and probable microSD card support) is also likely, but more interestingly is the shallowness of this device — it’s just 6.4mm thin.

Around the back, we’ll be getting two 12MP cameras with OIS and laser focus, while around the front there’s a 5MP selfie camera.

And the price? Oppomart is talking US$499, which is par for the course really.

Huawei P9 Lite and P9 Max

The big news is the Huawei P9 Max’s existence. The phone didn’t make its way to South Africa in its previous guise, and we have our doubts that it will sell here this time. But still, these specifications are incredible.

The phone has a 6.2-inch quad HD screen (that’s larger than the Mate phablet line), a 3000mAh battery, a HiSilicon Kirin 955 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

The same camera setup applies, but the selfie camera is boosted up to an 8MP unit instead.

Price-wise, Oppomart’s talking US$699, but for more budget-conscious users, the Huawei P9 Lite is the ticket.

It’ll retail for US$299, pack practically all the same gear as the P9, but boasts a less powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 SoC, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.

It’s also slightly smaller, packs a 5.0-inch screen with a full HD panel and a smaller 2500mAh battery.

The listings for all three phones are still up on Oppomart, so check them out here. But the question is: are these Huawei’s next three smartphones, or are they nothing more than place holders? Let us know in the comments section below.
