Apple’s next smartwatch is going on a diet, according to an industry analyst.
In a report obtained by MacRumors, Drexel Hamilton’s Brian White suggests that the presumptively named Apple Watch 2 will be as much as 40% thinner than the original.

White also foresees a WWDC 2016 launch.
“Finally, we walked away with the sense that the Apple Watch refresh will not occur in September with the iPhone 7, but is more likely to occur within the next 2-3 months, and thus we believe an unveiling at WWDC in June makes sense,” he clarifies.
The Apple Watch has since sold a suggested 12-million units last year, which makes it a failure in Apple sales terms, but a massive success for smartwatches.
Apple won’t face the iPhone-like upgrade problem with the Watch either, as around 60% of Apple Watch users will upgrade to the next generation.
The Cupertino company has yet to confirm the existence of the Apple Watch 2, or if it is indeed working on a successor to its wearable, but it definitely seems likely.
