If you happen to be an HTC fan, stay tuned, because the company’s just announced its latest Android Marshmallow flagship smartphone.

Today HTC ditched both the “One M” moniker from its phones, announcing the rather drearily named HTC 10.
The phone is a combination of the HTC One A9 and the HTC One M9 in terms of style, which is a good thing for minimalist lovers. The 10 boasts deep chamfered edges on its back, and a broad 5.2-inch screen on its front. There’s also no garish logo either, with the company reserving it solely for the rear.
There’s plenty of pixels too, 2560×1440, and HTC claims that the “Super LCD 5” is about as bright and colour-dense as any AMOLED.
Under the hood, its a typical 2016 flagship smartphone: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 is the brains, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage round up the package, while HTC’s also including a microSD card slot for the camera crazy. And that’s one area HTC really has improved.
It might not boast the usual dual camera setup, but there’s a sole 12MP f/1.8 UltraPixel 2 camera at the rear, which DXOmark scores 88/100 — tied for best camera available with the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. That’s nothing to scoff at.
The multimedia focus continues through to the BoomSound speaker system too. HTC claims that it’s the first phone to record in 4K (at 30fps) and offer Hi-Res audio recording in stereo, perfect for mobile videographers.
And for videographers on the run, battery size is also a respectable 3000mAh, with a USB Type-C port for charging (and data) and Quick Charge 3.0, which refills the battery to 50% in about 30 minutes.
Finally, for the colour options, HTC’s offering Carbon Grey, Glacier Silver, Topaz Gold and Camellia Red devices, the latter reminiscent of the company’s dark rouge phones of the past.
HTC has yet to announce a concrete selling price, but we imagine it should be priced alongside its competition — the Huawei P9, Samsung Galaxy S7 and LG G5.
