Samsung fans who loved the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active can rejoice, because it seems that the S7 is getting the rugged treatment too.
Keeping with tradition, the phone will be bear the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active badge, and will carry all the S7 internals, from the camera to the chipset in a sturdier, drop-resistant body.

Last year, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active was also launched after the standard S6’s announcement, so there’s no real surprise there. However, the company has yet to pen a release date for the device.
Samsung‘s also planning to cover the lower spectrum of the smartphone market too. On the back of the iPhone SE launch, the company is also preparing a compact S7 smartphone, likely dubbed the Samsung Galaxy S7 Mini.
According to GSMArena, it will sport a 4.6-inch screen with a 1080p panel, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC and 3GB of RAM. It will also sport the 12MP camera on the bigger S7, but it won’t be as thin, at 9.9mm.
Other sources suggest that RAM figure could be closer to 4GB, and the screen resolution lower at 720p, but Samsung has yet to confirm the device’s development or existence.
