Mobile In Africa (MIA), the company responsible for importing Xiaomi products into South Africa, has announced that the Xiaomi Mi 5 is hitting South African stores next week.
In a refresher sent to Gearburn by MIA, the latter stated that the phone will be available from the MIA site, Makro, DionWired, Game, Takealot and Incredible Connection.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 was initially debuted at *MWC 2015, and boasts a 5.15-inch screen with 1920×1080 pixels, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, and 3GB of RAM. The Android-based phone also boasts a 16MP rear camera, along with a 4MP selfie snapper up front, and rounding up the package is a USB Type-C port at the bottom.

While it goes on sale in stores next week, the Xiaomi Mi 5 will also be sold on contract via Vodacom’s U Choose Flexi package at R399 p/m. The contract includes 5GB data to the end of June, and three Top Dog vouchers.
If you fancy prepaid though, the phone will debut at R7999.
