Gears of War 4: gameplay, Elite controller and pricing details revealed

During Xbox’s E3 2016 conference, developer The Coalition showed off some more footage of the next alien-killing cover-based shooter, Gears of War 4.

Oh, and it’s already up for pre-order on Xbox One and PC at Xbox.com for R749. The Ultimate Edition — including the game, season pass, and Vintage Del pack — will set you back R1179.

Amazon lists the standard physical edition for US$59.99 and the Ultimate Edition (with SteelBook case) for US$99.99. There is currently no local pricing on the physical releases.

The game will be receiving a Collector’s Edition for US$249.99. This will consist of the game, SteelBook case, season pass, early access to the game, a keychain, in-game content, and a 19-inch statue of JD Fenix on a COG Bike. There is no local pricing or stock confirmation of this yet.

Gears of War 4 is set to release on 11 October on PC and Xbox One.

If the game isn’t enough for you, Microsoft is releasing a Gears of War 4 inspired Xbox One Elite controller. The device will sport a crimson aesthetic with blood and dirty splatter along with claw marks. There is no word on a shipping date, but it will cost US$200 from the Windows Store.
