Hello Games’ upcoming title No Man’s Sky might boast the biggest world of any game this year (or likely any game before it), but it all packs rather neatly into a PlayStation 4‘s blu-ray disc with acres of room to spare.
According to a tweet from Hello Games‘ Sean Murray, No Man’s Sky uses just 6GB on its installation disc, with most of that being audio.

For those asking – size of No Man’s Sky on disc is just 6GB. A lot of that is audio (⌐■_■)

That’s incredibly small, especially when compared to the likes of CD Projekt RED‘s texture-dense The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt at 35GB, or the surprisingly small Ubisoft survival hunter Far Cry Primal at around 12.2GB.
Of course, this size will likely grow as game patches and various tweaks are added post-launch, but it’s nevertheless a tiny starter size for a game boasting over a billion-billion planets.
The game debuts in Europe and South Africa on 10 August on PlayStation 4, with the US getting a taste of the title a day earlier.
