After four months, Nintendo has released a new firmware update for the 3DS family of consoles. The new update, 11.1.0-34E, only brings with it some stability fixes.
As stated in the Support section of the Nintendo website, this update contains: “Further improvements to overall system stability, system security and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user’s experience.”

If you’re still running 11.0.0-33E or older, you’ll need to update the system in order to access online functionality, such as the Internet Browser or eShop.
This new update should be available in all regions.
The update will be available for all Nintendo 2DS, Nintendo 3DS, and Nintendo ‘New’ 3DS devices.
