BlackBerry may not be designing its own hardware anymore, but that hasn’t stopped it from revealing the DTEK60 Android smartphone.
The new handset is a follow-up of sorts to the DTEK50, which was only released a few months ago anyway.

Of course, BlackBerry will be lending its name to other hardware manufacturers, and judging by the DTEK range, they’ve been teaming up with TCL for a while now.
The DTEK50 looked like a rebadged TCL/Alcatel Idol 4S, while the new DTEK60 bears a resemblance to the TCL 950.

This extends to the cameras (21MP main camera/8MP selfie shooter), battery (3000mAh) and horsepower (Snapdragon 820 processor and 4GB of RAM). Otherwise, the DTEK60 differs by having a 2560×1440 AMOLED display and 32GB of storage. The TCL 950, on the other hand, has a 1080p display and 64GB of storage.
The DTEK60 also features the same customisable hardware key as the 950, allowing you to tie specific tasks or apps to a button press. Finally, the phone also features a fingerprint scanner, being a first for a BlackBerry handset, oddly enough.
As for a price, BlackBerry is selling a bundle online for US$499, including a soft shell case and travel charger in the package.
