Relive Capcom‘s glory days with their signature JRPG series, Breath of Fire. Yes, the first two entries in the game franchise that’s dropped off the face of the Earth (like so many other Capcom titles) is now available on the Nintendo eShop.

Breath of Fire was originally released on the Super Nintendo in 1993. The game set up the series’ tradition of naming the main character Ryu and having him turn into a dragon.

It was followed by a direct sequel in 1994, Breath of Fire II, which takes place 500 years after the original game.

The last console release in the series, Breath of Fire V: Dragon Quarter, released on the PlayStation 2 in 2002. There was a strange mobile game released on iOS and Android this year, Breath of Fire 6: Hakuryū no Shugosha-tachi.

Both games are R104 each on the SA Nintendo eShop, but, for a limited time, purchasing either will give you 50% off of the other’s price. Before you get too excited, you’ll need a ‘new’ 3DS console in order to play these SNES ports.
