Super Mario Run is now available on Android

Super Mario Run

It’s taken roughly three months, but Super Mario Run has finally made its way from Apple’s iOS to Android.

Yes, the side-scrolling platformer can now be enjoyed on the world’s most popular mobile platform — but what should you expect?

For starters, the game’s first four levels (courses 1-1 to 1-4) are free to play, but you’ll need to splash out just over R131 to get all 24 courses.

Otherwise, expect one-handed platforming, as you control Mario’s leaps through each level. Nintendo has also made a point of allowing players to choose their path through the level at various points, so it’s not completely linear.

At the time of its release, critics pointed out that the game was very short. But others noted that getting all three completion coins for the level is where the real challenge was.

Other than completing the levels, players can also compete with friends, play the Challenge Mode or check out the Kingdom Builder suite.

Super Mario Run is now available on Android for R131 and iOS for R150.
