It’s pretty obvious that the Nintendo Switch is doing well, with Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild being the main drawcard. But now, it seems like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is enjoying similar success.

GfK added that it was the first UK number one for Nintendo since Pokemon White in 2011.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has shot to the top of the UK charts, marking the first Nintendo number one in over five years
“This is also the first Mario title at the top since Mario Kart Wii back in W34 2008,” the firm explained.
Replenished Switch stock meant Breath of the Wild climbed from number 10 to number five on the chart, GfK pointed out.
Otherwise, expect many a rooftop Switch party to take place now that a big-hitting multiplayer title like Mario Kart is on the console.
