Google made a big splash last year when it announced that Android apps would be coming to Chromebooks, via the Google Play Store. It’s taken longer than expected for the functionality to surface though, with only a few laptops supporting the feature.

Still, there’s plenty of potential for having Android apps on your Chromebook, instantly delivering over a million games and apps in theory.

Now, Google has added over a dozen more laptops to the list of Chromebooks capable of running Android apps (spotted by Android Police). So what’s new then?

We see new entries for Acer (Chromebook 11 N7 C731 and C731T, and Chromebook 15 CB3-532), Asus (Chromebook C202SA and Chromebook C300SA / C301SA), CTL (NL61 Chromebook), Dell (Chromebook 11 3180/3189, Chromebook 13 3380), HP (Chromebook 11 G5 EE and Chromebook 13 G1), Lenovo (Flex 11, N23 Yoga, N22, N23, N42), Mercer (NL6D) and Samsung (Chromebook 3).

The move also comes as the Android platform takes shape to better support Chromebooks. In fact, the upcoming Android O update sports improved hardware keyboard support.

“With the advent of Google Play apps on Chrome OS and other large form factors, we’re seeing a resurgence of keyboard navigation use within these apps. In Android O we focused on building a more reliable, predictable model for ‘arrow’ and ‘tab’ navigation that aids both developers and end users,” Google said at the time of Android O’s reveal.
