Nintendo’s miniature NES was a sensation upon its release last year, being produced in small numbers but seeing great demand. So we were happy to see the company announce the SNES Classic console, giving the Super Nintendo the miniature treatment.
The console is only set to launch in September 2017, but South African online retailer Raru has listed the machine for preorder on its website.

Raru lists the console at R1249, adding that it’s expected on 29 September. The retailer adds that they’re limiting preorders to one per customer — presumably to combat reselling.
As for games, the SNES Mini comes packed with: Star Fox 2, Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, A Link to the Past, F-Zero, Super Metroid, Street Fighter II, Super Punch-Out, Super Castlevania IV, Donkey Kong Country, Mega Man X, Kirby Super Star, Final Fantasy III, Kirby’s Dream Course, Star Fox, Yoshi’s Island, Super Mario RPG, Contra III: The Alien Wars, Secret of Mana, Earthbound and Super Ghouls and Ghosts.
Interestingly enough, the Japanese version swaps out a few titles in favour of Panel de Pon, The Legend of the Mystical Ninja, Super Soccer and Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem.
