Metal Gear Solid 2 HD comes to Android, but…

Metal Gear Solid 2,Android,Shield

Metal Gear Solid 2 was one of the most technologically advanced games for its time, pushing the then-new PS2 to hitherto-unseen levels. Between the shadow and rain effects and the unprecedented level of detail, the title set the bar in the early days of the sixth generation.

We then saw an HD remastering come to the Xbox 360 and PS3, along with Metal Gear Solid 3, the games holding up reasonably well. Now, the title has been confirmed for Android, coming exclusively to Nvidia’s Shield TV (unfortunately).

The Shield TV version, which retails for R137, runs at 720p/60fps, includes the VR missions and support cloud saving and Google Play Achievements, according to a Play Store listing.

Of course, you’ll need a Shield TV console and controller, as well as 4GB of storage to play the game.

It’s far from the first major console game to come to Nvidia’s Android machine. Some of the more high profile titles include Oddworld: Munch’s Oddysee, GTA: Vice City, Tomb Raider, The Witness, Half Life 2, Borderlands 2, Metal Gear Rising and Knights of the Old Republic.

Now, about releasing Metal Gear Solid 2 on Steam…
