Gran Turismo Sport and Forza Motorsport 7 are both pushing the limits of console hardware, especially with 4K-capable consoles a reality.
But which one is the better looking game? Sure, Forza has native 4K on Xbox One X and PC, but that isn’t the be-all-and-end-all. And if you thought it was the key difference-maker, well, Digital Foundry’s analysis might surprise you.

The publication put together a comprehensive video, putting identical cars and tracks under the microscope. And the winner?
Well, Forza has a resolution and track detail advantage, while Gran Turismo Sport‘s lighting, car detail and draw distance get the nod, for starters. To be fair, Forza 7 does have a larger roster of cars and wet weather racing, while GT Sport has a leaner roster of cars, allowing the developer to spend a lot of time on each car model (at least in theory).
It’s worth noting that Digital Foundry captured Forza footage from a PC with maximum detail, owing to the Xbox One X not being available just yet.
