Original article: The Huawei Nova 2 hasn’t made its way to our shores yet, but that hasn’t stopped the tech company from launching a new model, dubbed the Huawei Nova 2i.
Spotted by Android Police and featured on Huawei Thailand’s channels, the Nova 2i packs two cameras on the front and two on the back. The front sees a 13MP+2MP pairing for bokeh/depth-of-field tomfoolery, while the rear delivers a 16MP+2MP combo.
The company is also promising refocusing after the fact, Live Photos-style functionality (recording two seconds of video before a photo) and improved beautify options.
Meanwhile, the phone also packs a 5.9-inch “FHD+” FullView Display (18:9 screen ratio), mid-range Kirin 659 processor (an incremental improvement at best over other 65X chips), 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 3340mAh battery and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The phone is expected to launch between 28 September-8 October in Thailand. We’ve asked Huawei South Africa about local availability and will update the article when we receive a response.
