Vivo and Oppo are two of the most popular smartphone brands in China, going toe to toe with the likes of Huawei, Apple and Xiaomi.
Vivo in particular has come from nowhere in the past year or two, quickly gobbling up marketshare thanks to some capable yet affordable phones.

Now, the company has confirmed that it’ll be conducting a dramatic expansion, targeting the likes of Russia and Hong Kong.
“As part of its expansion into more markets, the company will soon bring their products to Taiwan, Singapore and Russia, as their first foray into the European market, followed by a push into the African market in early next year,” read an excerpt of a Vivo press statement.
“We are thrilled to enter Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Russia and Africa in the coming months. By bringing consumers our innovative and quality products designed with them in mind, we hope to inspire young people around the world to stay true to their individuality and embrace self-confidence,” said Alex Feng, Senior Vice President of Vivo, in the statement.
Of course, Africa isn’t a country, so we’re glad to see the company specifically point to Morocco and Kenya for expansion in their infographic (seen below). We’ve contacted Vivo for clarification and will update the article when/if we receive a response.
