Original article: Lenovo’s Moto Z smartphones and Moto Mods have done a good job of bringing hardware add-ons to the smartphone world. Sure, the add-ons might be a little pricey, but between power banks, speakers and gamepads, there’s a Moto Mod for everyone.
Now, the company has revealed its latest add-on, in the form of the Polaroid Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod. And it does exactly what you think, printing photos taken with your Moto Z or Z Play device.
“Simply snap the Mod on your Moto Z, click the physical button to launch the camera and take a picture, then print right from your phone. The Polaroid Insta-Share Printer even allows you to print your favorite pictures from Facebook, Instagram and Google Photos,” Lenovo wrote on its blog.
The mod needs ZINK Zero-Ink Paper, which can be acquired locally at a starting price of around R300.
The company didn’t reveal pricing on the blog, but Android Police reports a US$200 price when it launches on Verizon this week. Expect a global rollout in “the coming months”.
We’ve asked Lenovo’s local representatives for release information and will update the story when we receive a response.
