Core Group has announced the availability of authorised iPhone screen repairs via the iStore and Digicape from 29 January.
Previously, users had to swap out their device in the event of a damaged screen, Core Group’s Linda van der Nest told Gearburn.

“This is the first time local iPhone users will have the peace of mind that their screen replacement is completed by an Apple Authorised Service Provider, with a genuine Apple replacement screen, ensuring full functionality is retained and the manufacturers warranty remains valid — often at a lower cost than current non-authorised repairs,” read an excerpt of the distributor’s press release.
The distributor confirmed that warranties will remain intact in the event of an authorised screen repair taking place. Pricing is available below.
“Customers who require an iPhone screen repair will be able to walk into any iStore and Digicape location nationwide and book their device in for a screen repair. Repairs will be completed within 4 working days, subject to demand,” the company explains.
However, the Sandton Drive iStore will allow customers to book an appointment online and have their phone repaired on the same day as the appointment.
Van der Nest also told Gearburn that customers with an iCare Plus protection plan would only need to pay an excess. The representative noted that the excess for an iPhone X screen repair under the protection plan would be R1600.
