Back at MWC 2018, Google announced that its ARCore platform for augmented reality was ready for prime-time, hitting 1.0.
Since then, we’ve seen quite a few AR-toting apps hit the Play Store, but what about compatible phones? Well, that’s more complicated…

Nevertheless, the full list of ARCore-compatible phones (as of writing) is the Asus Zenfone AR, LG V30 and V30+, Google Pixel and Pixel 2 phones, the OnePlus 5, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy S8/S8+ and Galaxy S7/S7 Edge.
Samsung also used its Unpacked event to confirm that the Galaxy S9 phones would offer ARCore support in the near future.
Since the MWC announcement, Google has also highlighted a few ARCore apps, such as a Tamagotchi game, a Walking Dead title and eBay’s shipping box tool.
