Game Dev Tycoon is just the latest tribute to Kairosoft’s Game Dev Story, charging players with running a video game developer and making a variety of decisions.
Now, you’ll need to take piracy into account, thanks to a new update from developer Greenheart Games.

“Try your luck surviving the harsh realities of piracy in this new ultra-hard game mode in which you have to invent DRM and sell company shares to survive,” reads an excerpt from the studio’s blog entry.
The team adds that if you implement DRM, it’ll upset fans. Catch-22 situation, indeed.
The version 1.6 update also adds a new console in the form of the Ninvento Swap (i.e. the Switch), as well as a fix for a weird bug.
“We were made aware of a pretty sad bug where the ‘women in tech’ event in the game did not alter the gender balance of job applicants. We have now fixed this and also added a lot more famous women game developers to the game.”
