For some Pokemon back in the Nintendo portable days, some monsters would only evolve when traded. This made swapping them with your pals a riveting experience. But when Pokemon Go launched back in 2016, this wasn’t possible.
Well, now it is.

“The Friends feature will start rolling out to Trainers later this week, allowing you to connect with your real-life friends and keep track of their adventures in Pokémon GO. You’ll be able to send them items, earn bonuses—and even trade Pokémon!” the Pokemon Go team wrote on its website.
To do all the above, you’ll need to share Trainer Codes, enter them into your game and send a request. Yes, essentially like any other social network.
“Certain Pokémon, such as a Legendary Pokémon, a Shiny Pokémon, or a Pokémon not currently in your Pokédex, require a Special Trade to complete, so keep that in mind before trading away that golden Magikarp!” it adds.
You’ll also need to be at level 10 or higher to trade with friends, but can send other trainers on your friends’ list gifts regardless of level.
The additions are set to hit the game’s live version in the coming days.
