The 2018 NAG LAN — South Africa’s largest bring-your-own-PC LAN event taking place at rAge in October — will be a lot more comfortable than previous years
“For the first time ever, gamers will be able to pre-select their preferred experience in three dedicated LAN areas when purchasing their tickets,” notes Michael James, project manager at rAge, in a press release.

“Two of the areas will be fully carpeted, one area will have padded chairs, and two areas will be quieter and more secluded from the noisy expo show floor, ensuring that the NAG LAN experience is more tailored to everyone’s individual tastes and levels of comfort.”
That’s a far cry from former LANs, which threw all gamers into a single, crowded space.
Notably, there are some other tech advancements also set to feature.
“We have architected the NAG LAN platform to run virtualization for a high-volume traffic environment, a step away from the bare-metal architecture they have used in the past,” notes Paul Ruinaard, country manager of Nutanix, one of the LAN’s sponsors.
“We are looking forward to seeing the benefits this yields for the gamers in a live environment.”
NAG LAN tickets will go on sale from 28 July 2018 at 9am.
The LAN, aswell as the rest of the rAge expo, will begin on 5 October 2018 in Northgate, Johannesburg.
