Android Pie received months of hype and feature teasers before it actually released to the public. But all that hullabaloo has made little impact on the latest Android versions overall market share.
On Android Developers’ overall OS version market share chart for Ocober, Android Pie is still not even listed.

In fact, the Android fragmentation issue is so ridiculous that Gingerbread — a version of the OS that’s nearly eight years old — is still running of 0.5% of devices.
It’s basically more popular than Pie, which runs on less that 0.1% of Android phones.
Three months in, it’s clear that most manufacturers haven’t seen the upgrade to Pie as a priority.
And devices that have launched recently with Pie, including the Huawei Mate 20 range and the Sony Xperia XZ3, haven’t been on the market long enough to shift the usage stats.
A number of Android One devices — including Xiaomi’s Mi A1 — also haven’t yet received the update to Pie.
More than a fifth of Android devices currently run the two versions of Oreo, while an additional 28.2% still run Nougat.
