As expected, this included the new iPad Pro, MacBook Air and Mac Mini.

The iPad Pro
According to Apple “the only thing that hasn’t changed is the name” with the all new iPad Pro.
With a 5mm width and no home button, the device is slim and almost frameless, featuring Liquid Retina technology that gives it a more enhanced, accurate and natural colour display.
“And thanks to the lowest reflectivity in the industry, the display is clear and readable wherever you take your iPad Pro,” states the company.
The iPad Pro also features Face ID, which can be used in portrait and landscape mode, powered by its TrueDepth camera.
“Working together in real time, they use a detailed depth map of your face to recognize you and only you in an instant,” Apple explains.
While the TrueDepth camera is just 7MP, the built-in camera is 12MP and capable of 4K video recording.
New accessories include the matte Apple Pencil and magnet no-charge Smart Keyboard Folio, all supporting a device capable of running editing apps like Adobe Photoshop through its A12X Bionic chip.
The iPad Pro will be available in a traditional 12.9 inch option and a smaller 11 inch one, both feature USB-C connection. Colours include silver and space grey.
The MacBook Air
The new MacBook Air is yet another “thinner and lighter” device from Apple, but interestingly it’s also green.
“The iconic wedge is created from 100 percent recycled aluminium, making it the greenest Mac ever,” claims the company.
The laptop shows off a 13.3 inch Retina display with “four times as many pixels as an HD display” according to Apple, along with fingerprint ID and a 20% larger touch pad.
“An eighth-generation Intel Core i5 processor helps you power through daily activities,” the company also notes.
The laptop, which comes in silver, space grey and gold, also features:
- 16GB memory
- 1.5 TB storage
- 12 hour battery life
- 2 x Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port for charging, data transfer and video output
- HD FaceTime camera
Mac Mini
Mac Mini, Apple’s miniature computer system, is back in two space grey options; quad-core Intel i3 and hexacore Intel i5 with 128 GB and 256 GB storage capacity respectively.
The device also has 8 GB of memory that can be increased up to 64 GB and ultra HD graphics.
“Mac mini powers everything from home automation to giant render farms,” says Apple.
Mac Mini also feature four Thunderbolt, one 10 GB ethernet, two USB 3 and an HMDI 2.0 port in addition to a headphone jack.
“Because of its size, performance, and wide array of ports, Mac mini goes where no Mac has gone before.”
The little computer is only 7.7 inches and will cost either US$799 or US$1099 depending on which core combination you buy.
All these new devices from Apple will available from 7 November 2018.
