If you thought Tetris was a weak timewaster you played mindlessly while waiting for a train, think again.
This weekend, the Tetris World Championships concluded in Portland, Oregon, with a quite incredible sequence of events.

16-year-old Joseph Saelee came back from a near semi-final defeat to ultimately knock seven-time world champion Jonas Neubauer from his perch.
The final however was a tense affair.
With Neubauer topping-out early, the heat was on Saelee to make up a 104 000 point difference.
For a full minute, Saelee carefully and thoughtfully builds the blocks up at almost break-neck speed, and eventually, gets two Tetris to take home the win.
It’s a pretty incredible moment, especially watching Neubauer’s transition from annoyance at himself, to admiration for Saelee to the right of the screen.
The duo also share a hug after the match, in what must be gaming’s most sporting moment of 2018.
Have a look at Saelee’s win at full speed below.
