After Samsung revealed its foldable smartphone/tablet concept early last week, “industry sources” chatting to Korea’s Yonhap News believes that a consumer device is just on the horizon.
The publication suggests that Samsung will launch a foldable smartphone alongside the Samsung Galaxy S10 in March.

“According to the sources, the South Korean tech giant plans to unveil the flagship Galaxy S10 smartphone in February, followed by the presumed foldable Galaxy F and another edition of the Galaxy S10 that runs on the 5G network in March,” the publication’s report reads.
The phone, which has been called the Samsung Galaxy F, will feature a 4.6 inch screen when folded and representing a smartphone, and a 7.4 inch screen when unfolded in tablet form.
The device is also set to run Android, with Samsung’s One UI on top.
If it does launch in March, it’s set to be the most expensive smartphone available at present, with a suggested price tag of US$1770.
Details are scant at present, and Samsung has yet to announce when the phone will be available to consumers, but 2019 does seem the year of the foldable phone.
