If you didn’t think the notch was a terrible fad and deliberate design flaw yet, this new device from Sharp will change your mind.
Dubbed the Aquos R2 Compact, the phone does remind us of the old Sony compact days.

And yes, it too boasts some pretty sweet specs. There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with 4GB of RAM and a 22.6MP camera for good measure.
But, it has one, nay, two small issues. There’s a notch on top, and a notch at the bottom.
The 120Hz 5.2 inch screen still boasts a 2280×1080 resolution, but one notch houses the 8MP selfie camera, the other the fingerprint reader.
Forget dual SIM, dual notch is apparently the latest design badge of honour.
For some, the phone is one of few options in the smaller screen flagship segment, but it’s unlikely that it’ll be freely available in South Africa.
