The Huawei P Smart 2019 is heading to South Africa, the company announced on Thursday.
The 2019 edition is the follow up to 2017’s original P Smart, and includes a number of advancements on paper.

For one, the P Smart 2019 is much, much larger than its predecessor. It features a 6.21 inch IPS display with a waterdrop notch (Huawei calls it “dewdrop”) and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
You’re also looking at a resolution of 2340×1080 — similar to the Honor 8X.
More like the 8X, the P Smart 2019 is also powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 710 chipset, which is mated to 3GB of RAM and a choice between 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.
Camera duties are complete by a dual camera array at the rear, including a 13MP primary camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Up front, users can expect a 16MP selfie camera.
Powering the device is a 3400mAh battery, while Huawei ships the P Smart 2019 with Android 9.0 Pie, running with the company’s custom EMUI interface.
As for the price, Huawei’s pricing the mid-ranger at R4999. It will be available in South Africa in two finishes — midnight black and aurora blue — from 1 February.
